Why do women sometimes wear bikini tops instead of bras?

Hi all. Maybe it's just an Australian thing, but I often notice that young women are wearing a bikini top underneath their dress, top, whatever, instead of a bra. And often in situations where I'm fairly confident they're not going near water and haven't done so.

Is this just a case of, they couldn't find a bra to wear that morning? Or is it more comfortable in hot climates or something? (I'm in northern Australia).

Could it be because they can take their top off exposing the bikini top but would not be willing to expose a bra? 😀

Could be what milagros said, and they typically are more comfortable without all the padding, wires, heavy straps, and hooks, but maybe it was just laundry day lol

if you're gonna be sweaty on and off, swimsuit material dries faster. and they come in fun patterns. plus i think it's easier to justify it being visible, since you wear a bikini out in the open.

I've only done that once or twice, and like Chicago said, yeah, laundry day. Other than
that, I never notice anyone around here doing it, but I'm also not leering at girls' underwear,
so maybe that's why.

I notice because it's clearly visible outside their clothes, e.g. around their neck. You'll find that most guys will take notice of what women are wearing.

Bikini Tops probably work as a better substitution for bras than swimming trunks would for boxers. I'm a dude and I can't imagine wearing swimming trunks instead of boxers. They'd be riding up and getting all bunchy...no thank you.

Don't boxers ride up and get all bunchy too though? Well they do on me at least.

And to the OP, I have no idea but a bra is way hotter than a bikini top for the same reason underwear is way hotter than a bikini bottom (not sure what that reason is though?).
