Why renfaire?

why are there only so many clips about renfaire. I have a mind to set a renfaire up myself so i can get more clips of girls in the stock being interrogated by guards. And I tell you people that I wouldn't put out one every 3 or 4 months, no I'd bring them all out at once, and keep bringing them out. But back to my original question why aren't there very many renfaire tickle clips? and why are they constantly taken off of youtube, and what ever happened to the 2 with the captions on them that were taken off of youtube?

The majority of renfaire clips are Italian, taken from a specific event held in the town of Canelli. It only happens once a year, so there're not very many opportunities to get new material. Now, why there's not any tickling at any of the hundreds of other renfaires that occur around the world... I can't say. People are put in stocks all the time (as referenced in the webcomic Queen of Wands, for example), but the tickling only seems to happen at Canelli. Maybe the Italians are braver... maybe they have fewer hangups about touching strangers than in North America.
The YouTube issue is notorious. It's happening to a lot of tickling material, not just renfaire-related. Not much one can do about it.

I hate youtube as much as the next person, but why don't we just boycott it, make a new system for watching videos, or use another system like metacafe or something. And another question is why doesn't someone else take the initiative to start a renfaire that has stocks and tickling?

We don't need to "Start a Renfair"...

But I'd really be curious for someone from this group to call up one of the managers of the existing local Renaissance Fairs, several months in advance, and ask about setting up stocks as a performance feature.

I'd bet they'd reject the offer, but it would be interesting to hear the reason they'd give. I'm guessing something like:

"We tried that before and it was controversial."
"We're afraid it will attract perverts."
"We have an established set of acts we've used for years, and there's no reason to change."

Or, perhaps they'd even say yes.

One of us should try this, and report back. (But we should agree who's going to do it, so they don't get 10 identical phone calls.) In my opinion, the key would be -- if the answer was no -- what reason would be given. It would be a window into how the mainstream culture views tickling.
