Winter weather is bad here in New York City, but it is much worse in Buffalo. Here is an email I got from a friend in Buffalo:
"We woke up this morning to see that snow had been falling all night. It is now waist deep and still falling. The temperature is near zero degrees and the wind is howling off Lake Erie. For the last two hours, my husband has been standing at the kitchen window and staring vacantly. If it gets any colder, then I will unlock the kitchen door and let him in."
