Hi, I'm getting an error message when I try to play some WMV files, sometimes they play, sometimes they say the following:

Windows Media Player cannot play this file. Connect to the Internet or insert the removable media on which the file is located, and then try to play the file again.

Can anyone help

i get that sometimes, ive got no idea why,
if you down load the file to your hardisk (right-click, save target as) then it will play when you open ot even if it didnt before, its odd i know, but this method works for me 😀

Ah, the eternal streaming problem. I assume you were trying to play it directly from whatever site it was locaed at, correct? Many times the streaming, or direct viewing, of a clip from a site's server leads to this error. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The simple solution is just what Duckie said; save it to your hard drive.
