In-Between, on a Thursday night, Ross had an early dinner at Shun Lee with Tim, and Patrick, Ross's perspective "Share" Client that Ross might share with Tim's other friend.
"Patrick, I'm Ross, nice to meet you" Ross said.
"Likewise,. Ross, I've heard so much about you" Patrick said.
After pleasantries and conversation, the men got down to business.
"Ross, I know that you and Tim have such a good working and personal relationship for decades. Personally, from what I've heard about you, and I've heard a lot, you would be the only one I think I would trust to take on this account. Similar to Tim, I run a worldwide marketing company of toys, novelties, and other items. What I would like is to streamline our company's marketing and PR campaigns , so that we can reach different types of customers, perhaps in different markets. I can send you some ideas this week. Would you be interested?" Patrick asked.
"Yes, I would definitely be interested. Tim, thank you for introducing me to Patrick, and Patrick, thank you for the opportunity" Ross said.
The men chatted more, Patrick left early, and Ross and Tim stayed behind to talk.
"I should say thanks. However, I think you know that teacher may not be very happy when she finds out about this" Ross said.
"That's why I have an idea. Besides me, Fritz and Steve , if you can work it out with Patrick, make this another mega account, and whatever Patrick pays you, dump five or ten junk accounts to reduce your workload. I was thinking about my initial idea to have you share this account with my friend, but then I thought about it, and said fuck that. You and me know that you are the only one I would trust with something like this. Do you think this would work?" Tim asked.
"Due to the fact that it involves you, and such a major opportunity, of course I will make it work. I'm going to get a list of all of RossShell's accounts, and I will dump at least a few small to medium sized accounts and replace their work and income with Patrick's if we can pull this off" Ross said.
"Thanks, buddy, I know that you are going to OKC soon" Tim said.
"Monday, for several days, but it will be routine. I will be back on Thursday after showing the fields to 50 investors and trying to sign 25. nothing major about that" Ross said.
When Ross went home to Kayley, he kissed her, and loosened his tie.
"So?" Kayley asked.
"A trade off, Guy's name is Patrick. He could be a mega account like Tim if I can sign him. In return, I let go five to ten smaller accounts due to the workload. I think that is fair, and in no way goes against our agreement with my workload, okay? I am trying to be careful teacher"
Kayley went over and kissed Ross. "Just fine, have fun with your new big account. I dont have a problem with you taking on another big account from time to time, as long as you are careful about your health, and mindful of our time together" Kayley said.
After a quiet weekend with Kayley, Ross left for OKC on Monday, for three days at most.
When Ross got there, he went to the office, and met with Fritz and Steve.
"Gentlemen, Hello, so nice to see you again, what is on the agenda this time?" Ross said in greeting.
Fritz tossed Ross an iced tea.
"What else? The usual, an oil and gas deal with 25 people, oh and by the way, surprise, one of the field foreman found a nice little strike worth one hundred mil that we have to sell off since we keep selling these pieces of all of our existing stuff" Fritz said.
"That's wonderful. Ah, but selling off one hundred mil will take time" Ross said.
"Maybe not. There is a guy we know in another company that has nothing to do with oil and gas. He is one of the largest law firms in the Southwest, with offices in Dallas, Houston and here in OKC. If we can convince him and his partners to buy, these guys have mega money, and we could get several hundred partners, several hundred lawyers, whammo, shares sold" Fritz said.
"Sounds great, when can this guy meet us?" Ross said.
"We can do it Wednesday, while you're here, but ah, you cant go dressed like this, suits and ties needed for a potential important client" Fritz teased.
"Dont worry about that, I will go to a tailor and buy the most classy suit there, and a great pair of shoes. Gosh this is wonderful news" Ross said.
"What's going on at craze land in Manhattan?" Fritz teased.
"Buddy, you know that I scaled down RossShell by half., The office is hardly crazy, its much smaller than it used to be. I might take on a big new client that is a friend of Tim's, and if I get the guy, I'm going to let go of quite a few smaller accounts so that I can focus on this account I hope to get, keep my workload stable, and keep the teacher happy" Ross said.
Fritz laughed. "Sounds like a great idea for your workload, and for your health with teacher"
That night, Fritz , Steve and Ross went out to dinner. The next day, they went over the specifics of the new major gas strike that they hoped to sell to Fritzs friend from the major law firm Ross also got a brand new shirt, suit, and shoes for the meeting.
After a decent night's sleep, Ross awakened on Wednesday morning to prepare for what would hopefully be a very important meeting.
In regard to Kayley, Ross decided to keep his emotions under control by telling Kayley of a "possible new gas strike " that had to be investigated, and a "Potential field of investors" Ross was learning from previous experience not to "shoot his mouth off" until the situation was settled.
What would happen with the new mega gas strike, and the meeting with the lawyer from the major law firm?
That would be seen.
