(Prefacing note: Anyone who answers this post with something like "Why don't you ask Yahoo tech support ?" will be considered to be either stupid or unfit for their job.)
There is another TMF member here who likes to do Yahoo voice chat with me. That member does not have (or is unwilling to procure and activate) a microphone. That member does have speakers and enjoys voice and keyboard communication.
This (i.e., one-way voice) does not work when we are in direct private Message session with each other. It worked once in a private conference between the two of us, but does not work consistently now. I have the voice icon on my screen, but the other member does not. When we try the alternate TMF Yahoo Chat room (with voice enabled) it usually works again.
We cannot, of course, expect members in the alternate TMF Yahoo room to just shut up for us.
The non-working voice in Private Message sessions is consistent and repeated
Question # 1: Why does voice work with this other member in the chat room but not in Private messaging ?
Question # 2: Ditto for one time it did work in a private conference ?
Question # 3: What can I/we do to ascertain why these different behaviors are occuring ?
