Young Susan Sarandon gets slightly ticklish foot kiss ("Joe", 1970)

Ah, in honor of Election Day, nothing brings the left and the right together more than the very controversial 1970 film "Joe"! My only regret is it's not (right-wing) "Joe" himself who tickles (left-wing) Susan (who was about 20 years at the time, making her first movie, and looking gorgeous) (just watched her in "Pretty Baby" also, man oh man, mama mia!).

Anyways, in this scene that starts the movie she's in her apartment with her strung-out junkie boyfriend and is trying to initiate sex with him. In fact she seems to try to jumpstart the thing by slightly, softly tittering as soon as his hands make contact with her waist, even though he's completely lax.

So she lays down on the bed, and he crawls over to her, and gives the tops of her feet a kiss, making her slightly titter again and wiggle her toes. She gives one more slight titter when he gets on top of her.

SO minor and SO slight.....and I think it's more of her SUGGESTING ticklishness to be alluring to her nodding-off-boyfriend! (to us 'lers, that's all we'd need to hear to take the bait, right? That titter would soon turn into hysterical laughter!). So it's not life changing......but for this day of days, this is the best I could do! Tickle a liberal hottie for Election Day, I say!

I am shocked! You've seen everything and it was such a huge hit that summer! Just read a great article about it:

Definitely a movie unlike any other, Peter Boyle gives a performance that has to be seen to be believed. He doesn't even enter the movie until about halfway through! I kept watching it and thinking.....where's Peter Boyle and this performance I've heard so much about! Well worth the set-up, though.

I had always known of the movie, but had no idea it was such a big cultural thing, with right and left going to the movie, yelling at the screen.......they should run it now, today! The same thing would probably happen! The hippies (who are written really one-dimensional) are from a different time, but Boyle's "Joe" is completely contemporary!

Anyways........to the victors go the spoils and I'm happy both left and right can come together over young Susan Sarandon! (did I just say that?!!! lol)
