Everyone has the shows that everyone seems to be watching: "The Office," "My Name is Earl," etc. I don't watch those shows although most of my friends do. I'm sure they're great, but I've always been drawn to the more obscure, lesser known. If you're the same, speak out~what do you like and why? Shows most people don't know are out there. I really like "The Locator" (even though I always cry) and "I Want to Save Your Life," because I always learn something and really admire Charles' dedication to the people he helps.
Now you go!
XOXO

Aside from "The Big Bang Theory", the only other show which I subscribe to are Deadliest Warrior and Surviving Disaster both found on Spike! As for really obscure TV shows, here's a Canada only show called "What It's Like to be Alone"; a politically incorrect, government funded show which preceded "Robot Chicken" by a few years!

Reno 911 about a dysfunctional police department/spoof on shows like COPS

At first it seems like a white trash show...until you realize they're making fun of white trash. It's hilarious.

I got Blackadder IV on DVD and recognized this quote from your signature:

I earned a degree from the University of Life, a diploma from the School of Hard Knocks, and 4 gold stars from the kindergarten of getting the shit kicked out of me.

That series had some of the best lines EVER!!!

Since vampires are all the rage, I thought I'd include this one: "Forever Knight"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103417/
I recall watching late night tv while I was studying in vet school and this was classic - loved the lead actors.

Add Fawlty Towers to black adder and are you being served....

and forever Knight is awesome...

OK gang~thanx for the answers~I've not heard of most of these! :redheart:
Can I make a small request? Tell us what channel, what night it airs and (if you haven't yet) why you find them so cool.
XOXO

''Are You Being Served?'' airs on a local channel in my area on Saturdays @ 11:00.You can find some episodes on Youtube. As a matter of fact,I watched an episode on there after I made my post. It's a British comedy.

Edit: Wow,I just read online that Wendy Richard(one of the actresses) had died from cancer in February of this year.Apparently she made a documentary of the last 3 months of her life,I'm gonna try to find it.Damn.

Oh tell me you're a fan of Super Troopers? I like "Reno"~but this came out years before~one of my all time favorite movies!
XOXO

I wouldn't call Reno obscure, they did have a movie

But as for troopers

I saw reruns of Forever Knight on some cable channel - and saw that some were being rerun again. It's about a 700 year old vampire who becomes a cop - looking for some form of redemption. The coroner knows his secret and she helps him out with his cases and his need for "blood" (or some alternative). It was campy and fun and yet had a lot of good acting in it.

Indeed. I think my second favorite was....

"Baldrick, believe me, eternity in the company of beelzebub and all of his hellish instruments of death, will be a picnic compared to five minutes with me and this pencil."

I agree wholeheartedly. Blackadder.....simply the best.

1000 Ways to Die on Spike. Some of them are Darwinism at it's finest. I also watch Dollhouse which just barely got a second season despite being amazing. It aired on ABC or Fox, can't remember which atm.

Back in the day, the real office (as in, the one that you yanks hijacked and made a television show out of) was actually quite obscure. Then of course it gained popularity, which is why it made it stateside.

Other obscurities are;

Newswipe.
Screenwipe.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
I'm Alan Partridge
The Mighty Boosh (perhaps not obscure, but certainly bizarre)

There's a show on at night called Flashpoint that I really like, No one I know has seem to have heard of it.

I don't know how well Kenny Vs Spenny is known in the US...but it's brilliant Canadian comedy. 😀

I liked watching Eastbound & Down on HBO. The show is a bit like watching a train wreck, but I still like it. I'm not sure if it's getting a second season, I hope it does.

Breaking bad on AMC is also worth looking into. The show's been compared to Weeds, but I think it's better than Weeds.

I'd also recommend Nurse Jackie and Californication on Showtime. If you don't have Showtime you can find episodes online if you look well enough.
