Your Choice: Literary Characters

I read so many books, this is hard even for me to come up with. I would have to choose Electra, from Piers Anthony's Xanth series. First, she likes to play and laugh, so I think she would enjoy it, second, she has freckles (I love freckles), and third, she always wears jeans. Bare feet and jeans are my favorite combination.

To TTD: Before you even get here, don't do it!!

To Critterlord: Unsure, since I tend to read books without any characters with possibilities.

I would tickle to tears the fair Maid Marian out of Robin Hood, but only if i could play The Sherrif Of Nottingham to my kinky heart's delight.

Honor Harrington in David Weber's series of scifi novels in which she is the main character.

Why? Because I like her.

Tough choice, but I'd have to go with Eilonwy from Lloyd Alexander's Prydain books. I like redheads, and I like spunky yet funloving girls as ticklees. She'd be the talking-back-but-loving-it type. 😛

I want Ahab.
Ill teach that man a thing or two about animal cruelty (albeit Moby did drive Ahab mad)

As one of the forum's resident book people, it behooves me to answer this as well as I can:

The name that most immediately leaps to mind is Tiana Highrider (from Andrew Offutt and Richard Lyons's Demon in the Mirror, et al). Red-haired, uninhibited, and she even mentions at one point that her feet are ticklish -- what's not to like?

A few other possibilities: Corson and Nyctasia from J.F. Rivkin's Silverglass and its sequels (which also frequently allude to ticklish fun), C'mell from Cordwainer Smith's "The Ballad of Lost C'mell," Dessylyn from Karl Edward Wagner's "Undertow," and Karamaneh from Sax Rohmer's The Insidious Dr. Fu Manchu et al.

Lester Dent's Pat Savage might be a possibility, but she'd probably break anyone who tried to tickle her in half. So would Peter O'Donnell's Modesty Blaise -- plus O'Donnell frequently mentions that Modesty's feet are rock hard from constantly going barefoot as a child, so any tickler would have to restrict himself to her upper body.

Arwen from Lord of the Rings (played by Liv Tyler in the movie version) along with Galadriel (played by Kate Blanchett). Of course I'd much rather visualize how they would look in my minds eye rather than base them off of the movie characters. I've always been a Tolken fan.

Maybe I should do an illustration of both of them being tickled by Gollum.

'Course, if we're going to talk actual literature, rather than light fiction, I'd have to say Elizabeth from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice (though Emma definitely deserves it, too), followed by Sophia from Fielding's Tom Jones. In the middle ground between great literature and light fiction, there's also the nameless main character from DuMaurier's Rebecca. She could use a bit of fun.

(Incidentally, I do consider LOTR to be real literature -- but I'd have to go with Eowyn. She could really use a laugh.)
