the hollywood brother has many artists that he likes but lately he has been hooked on the califronia band "BETTY BLOWTORCH" and also the DONNAS. both are hard rocking and remind the hollywood brother of his youth when groups like TWISTED SISTER, QUIET RIOT, WARRNAT, RATT, CINDERALLA, POISON, VIXEN, BON JOVI, SKID ROW, JUDAS PRIEST, WIDWOMAKER, and others ruled the world

Way too many groups I like to form a meaningful list. I tend to like a song for it's own quality rather than who did it...but a few that leap to mind who made a wholelotta songs I like would be (in no order);
Greenday
Barenaked Ladies
Third Eye Blind
Matchbox 20
Marcy Playground
John Mellencamp
Plus a myriad of "oldies" groups I like. Can you tell what decade I listened to new music? lol

Mine fav's are:

The Imperials (gospel group, not as in Little Anthony and the...
DeGarmo and Key
Mannheim Steamroller
bond
The Cheiftains
Mary Black
Foster & Allen
Chicago (prior to Peter Cetera leaving)
The Eagles
Third Day
Stephen Curtis Chapman
Carman
The Nylons

quite a variety

HDS, I'm pleased to see that there's another Maná fan here!

Along with that Latin alternative band, my favourites include:

Foo Fighters
Luis Miguel
Marc Anthony
Donna Summer (yes, really 😉 )
The Fifth Dimension
Ice Cube
Naughty by Nature
Ludwig von Beethoven

and many more that I can't recall offhand

Yes, I am familiar with them all, esp the late Rich Mullins....my daughter (8 years old) and I did "My Deliverer" at church together one Sunday morning and brought the house down. He will be missed....

I could have listed many more, but decided to add other genres to show that I'm not just some southern hick... 😀 :nerd:

Sorry to bring an old post back, but I just saw MistressValerie's reply.

Always nice to see someone else with a taste for freestyle.

*on a side note, I was fortunate enough to meet the lead singer of Sweet Sensation last year (Betty Dee) and she even pulled me onstage to sing the male vocals on the Sweet Sensation song, "Sincerely Yours".

ah, yes, so this is what you OLD people used to listen to....😛XD😀.......:wooha: wait, I listened too! 😀 YESSSS! I'm old, AND wise! XD

Here's my list (in no particular order): -

Beatles
Oasis
Stereophonics
Strokes
Nirvana
Babyshambles
Libertines
A-ha
Anastacia
Blur
Coldplay
Rolling Stones
Bob Dylan
Pulp
White Stripes
Royksopp
Tatu
Darkness
Foo fighters
Killers
Scissor Sisters
Franz Ferdinand
Magic Numbers
My Chemical Romance
Guns and Roses

oh and I could go on forever...............

I also love a lot of classical composers, especially Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Vivaldi, Bach, Medelssohn etc.

You want to see different? Here goes...
Acqua(yes,XD)
Black eyed peas
Sum 41
Eminem
Green Day
Radiohead
Matchbox twenty
Linkin Park
Metallica
Coldplay
Outkast
Usher
The Killers

Yeah, I seriously like all those bands and artists. Although, like ness, I prefer to list individual songs. Eminem for example, I only like a couple of his songs, hearing a swear word every like 5 seconds isn't always the best lyrics to listen too. Half the time, I don't even know what he's saying. XD And yes, by the list, you can probably tell that I'm somewhat "emo" XD
