Youtube.com will allow videos to be posted if a production company doesn't step in and say no way, right? (Footparadise comes to mind)

Solefully yours offered vids a little before my time, but people out there must still have them, right? They went out of business 5 years ago; does anybody have some clips from those tapes in the 90's?

(This might also belong in the vidclips request section, but I'm trying to get thoughts on what might be acceptable to post on youtube as well)

If a company is currently in operation and producing material (Or even simply remains in operation selling old material), it is illegal to distribute their material unless they have expressly given permission (For example, some companies put out preview clips that they don't mind being circulated. However, this varies from business to business.). If a company is out of business, however, I am unsure as to what the law allows. It may not matter, since the business is gone, but someone does still hold the copyright on works produced while the comapny was operational. This is a question for those who know more of the law than I, that it is.
