Dear John,
Two short days before the first month anniversary of your passing, I find myself contemplating things that should have been. So many things make me sad now. But this is not the time nor place to dwell on such things. No, instead, I will focus on the joy and happiness you brought into my life. I remember things I will never experience again.
-In grade school, you would check on me while I played on the lower playground.
-Always threatening to beat me up if I didn't do well in my classes.
-Beating me up anyways and how hard we'd laugh while we rough-housed.
-Our (sadly) infrequent phone calls and how much we had a good time doing talking.
-Being surprised by you at Christmas '07, and having to keep the secret from Mom until you showed up Christmas morning.
-Being taken out to dinner by you and Sierra a few years back, and being surprised when the waiters&waitresses sang Happy Birthday at your request.
-Going to the beach and having a ginormous seaweed fight.
-Watching your relationship with Sierra grow and wishing that my future husband will treat me as well as you treated her.
-Listening along to the song "Pool Party" by the Aquabats and laughing at your lip syncing.
-Thinking of you whenever I heard the song "Classico" by Tenacious D.
My heart aches bro, I miss you to pieces and wish your time had not been cut so short.
Love you.
