My latest contribution to the Post Stories subforum has received more than 1000 views. Yey for me!
Admittedly, there’s a good chance that most of those readers came away disappointed… lol But still! When your previous efforts have gone down like lead balloons (one comment in three stories: could be a TMF record…?), it’s nice to see one showing a little buoyancy, bobbing around in the rarefied air of page 1 for a reasonable period, attracting a couple of approving murmurs. I noticed that it received more views in its first 24 hours on the forum than its predecessor has done in the 7/8 weeks since it was posted! Pretty odd, you might think – but I believe there is a good and rational explanation for this discrepancy, and it is this: People love a bit of sadism! (And let’s face it, with a title like The Dictator’s Son, the theme was never really in doubt!)
It was my attempt at writing a serious abuse/torture-based tickling story. And I failed lol. In the first place, it’s not a story but a monologue, and in the second, it’s not serious. That would be a double fail, then! It seems I am incapable of writing anything (prose-wise, I mean) that is 100% serious in tone. I don’t know why that is. Everything has to be laced with elements of humour and/or irony. It’s like a compulsion. Or maybe it's some kind of bizarre psychological disorder I've got, I dunno. lol And I don’t think it really does me any good – as far as tickling stories go. I think even when a story is strange and fantastical, people prefer it to be written ‘straight’, as it were. No fucking about by the narrator, in other words. I can understand that. Put simply, tickling stories are not my forte! I may have another attempt at writing a slightly more ‘realist’ (if that’s the right term) sort of monologue... We shall see.
They say that if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. Which means I’m already one ‘try’ over the limit. lol But fuck it. Who’s counting! 😀
