It's the season to be jolly, right? We'd agree that there's no better short cut to jolliness than a pair of hands coming at you, wiggling closer to just the right spot.
There are other ways to induce a smile, though.
Less than two weeks after posting about how rare it can be to find a reliable online friend, one appears from the unlikeliest of places.
Her work's been going crazy. Literally, crazy. Working 24+ hour shifts. Physical and emotional demands. Reductions in staff. So exhausted that she can hardly make it to bed with her eyes open.
And yet, every day she faithfully writes to her loyal tickling friends.
Maybe for her it's a pleasant escape from what's been a true holiday misadventure. If so, that's just the good fortune that she deserves. But I'm the one feeling lucky to have connected with someone who's truly invested in making friends.
As one who's come to expect silence or fragments from the average note, it's rightfully time to cast a thanks out into the blogosphere and compassionate thoughts toward her in her wearying time of need.
For now I'll keep her name quiet, though many of us here know her. Suffice to say, it's a great time to get in touch (no pun intended) with your favorite TMFer.
