I went to the casino today. What happened was incredible.
I was playing a "Quick Hit" penny machine. I always play them, usually for a total of $20.
You can bet 30 to 150 pennies in multiples of 30 cents. I alternate. I cant bet $1.50 a spin, as its too rich for my blood.
On one spin, I did bet the 150. The Quick hit came up, and kept paying, and paying, and paying.
It turns out.. I had hit the jackpot.. the second biggest possible one on that machine.. to the tune of almost $1700! Its the most money I've ever won gambling. They came over, and gave me the form, and the cash.
I had to call my dad, to ask his advice, since he handles my affairs, and is a CPA. He was happy for me. I have to give him the form.
I then went to the horses, and did lousy, but only dropped $100. I walked out of there up well over $1500.
I went to see Maria, and she was thrilled for me. She's been feeling badly, so I bought her a $20 gift card just to try and cheer her up.
Barney is coming home soon. Chinese dinner is on me.
I have to get back to work after late Gardner tonight. My dad and Maria think I'm paranoid that I'm going to get fired, in spite of Jay's e-mail.
I deserved it, damnit.
Mom, it was a page right out of your book. (She won some big slot jackpots in her life) She used to play dollar and quarter slots.
Maybe,.. departed loved ones can watch. If they can talk to God,, I hope most important.. it can be made so I'll pass on Monday,.
