My dad called me a bit ago.. to say Happy New Year. We hadn't spoken in six days, only the second time that's happened in the two plus years I'm back with him.
He wished me a big year. I hope so, for both of our sakes. He told me that he's tried to get in touch with the attorney we're trying to sign.. but to no avail. The attorney is an Orthodox Jew, so it's likely he's unavailable until probably Monday.
I asked my dad what he and Cheryl are doing tomorrow. He said he didn't know, because he's been working. The weather is supposed to be horrible. Even if they are seeing the other kids, and don t want me there now,.. until things calm down between me and my dad, I understand.
I e-mailed Keith to ask him if I could simply send the attorney we're trying to sign.. a Jewish New Year greeting. Keith told me to stay away, so I will listen.
Of course, my thoughts are with my mom on this New Year, as they are every day. I hope she is having a wonderful holiday on the other side, with all of our departed loved ones who she's with. I will love her until the day I die.
Twenty five years ago.. on the eve of Rosh Hashanah.. my parents decided to separate after nearly 21 years. I hope and pray that this Jewish New Year, is far better for me than that one was.
To all my friends who observe it: A Happy,. Healthy, New Year.
