I saw my friend Barney for dinner tonight, for the first time in weeks.
He told me something I didn't know. He met someone. A woman.
He said this is why he hasn't been available for me. I wish he had told me before, so I would have known. I did tell him that while I understand a friend's availability might not be as much when they find a partner, that I do hope he will find time to see me, since he finds time to see his friend Paul. He assured me he will.
I'm happy for him. I'm not the type to feel jealous if a friend has a partner, and I don't.
My relationship with my ex best friend, came to an end for a totally different reason. At the time he found someone, I was all alone with my cancer stricken mother in the hospital for three weeks, at a time she almost died. He knew I had no other family or friends in Lancaster at the time, and never called, or came to see us. To do that at that time, in addition to other things he had done, caused me to finally pull the plug on it.
I don't have a particular desire to meet anyone now anyway. My top thought, is to get whatever job, and hopefully, to get back into insurance somehow, or to get someone to back me in the business I have the trademark on. If that happens, a woman will come naturally after that.
