I this post.
I work at home, and too many people think that means I never, ever leave the house or go to the bathroom. I've come back from many a daycare walk with the message "how can you not be HOME?? PICK UP!!!" on my damn machine. And the cell, don't start me! I rarely touch the thing since I work here and have a landline, it's really for emergencies and travel and my friends know this. Still, Buddha forbid I leave the house without it to run to the store. Newsflash: after a long-ass day of 6 loud toddlers my nerves are a little shot, I'm not tryin' to get dead by talking to you about who stole your "Hang in There Baby" kitty mug from your cubicle that day while I'm driving. I DRIVE while I'm driving. And occasionally I scream-sing to the Indigo Girls or Biz Markie. It's a moment of peace and the phone's not going to spoil that, do you hear?
No, you don't, you're busy texting someone about your new socks
