I have an amazing baby sister.
today I got to see her for probably the last time in a few months' time. she lives with my family on the west coast and I miss her all the time. my family does a good job of keeping me recognizable to her, as in my mom shows her pictures of me and asks her who it is. she always gets it right.
she is a little over two years old, and she runs around like someone is chasing her all the time. her feet are never in a straight line, though, so her legs look like soft taffy swingin' around all over the place. today she found a little toy shopping cart and walked all over the house getting "groceries" she said, like a plastic phone and a frisbee and a rabbit. she knows just what we like for supper at my house.
the worst part of not living with my family is that I only get to see parts of every stage of growing up that she goes through. so one day, she's crawling, and then the next time I see her, she's dancing and talking, and then the next time I see her, she's stringing sentences together and punching me in the face, which really happens. I should be lucky that I get to spend any time with her at all, which I am thankful for. I am just happy that she remembers my name, and that she said my name before she said my sister's. I am the favorite after all.
oh yeah, Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers. I got my mom a "sorry I slept in and didn't go to church this morning" pass, but also a brunch with some nice breakfast casserole, fruits and veggies.
