Last year, when I left Lancaster, and Jeff found me the link to WPVI, and my favorite newsman in Philly, Jim Gardner.. my first thought was.. "Okay, thanks, and great.. This will be my transition, as I'm getting used to things in NY. Eventually, I will be able to forget about watching WPVI, and Jim Gardner, and move on",. This hasn't happened. I'm just as into watching him now as I was when I lived in PA, and even more so.
When I was in NJ with my mom in the summer of 2011, I watched Liz Cho, because I didn't have a computer in the room, or know about the link to WPVI. I used to really like her. Now,.. it seems that I've completely lost interest in her, and all I want to do when it comes time to watch the news, is watch WPVI. Weekday mornings, 6pm, 11pm with Gardner. Heck, I've even been watching Rob Jennings some on weekends, and I never watched him in PA.
I think.. with all the changes in my life in the past year and a half, and the dissatisfaction with my relatives, and the business disappointments, WPVI is the one thing from my old life that makes me happy. I know that I can get into trouble if I do something else too much that I enjoy.. the casino. WPVI is free.. doesn't cost anything to watch it.
I don't recall if I posted on here that weekend anchor Rob Jennings, who has been with PVI almost as long as my favorite anchor Jim Gardner, will be retiring this year. Jennings might be older than Gardner, as Jennings has been married since 1966, even though Gardner looks older than Jennings. I'm hopeful that Gardner stays at least a while longer. He's 65, so who knows?
I think.. maybe.. that WPVI is good for me, because it's what I'm used to.. I've watched it for fourteen years.. I'm likening it to being a fan of an out of town baseball team, and am just going to go with it.
