For those who don't already know, the TMF runs on a piece of forum-creating software called Vbulletin. There are a lot of third-party add-ons for vbulletin but they are unofficial and unsupported, and using them means that you can't call on the vbulletin team for tech support in the event of an emergency, so I've always avoided them.
But vbulletin did come out with one official add-on recently that you can buy directly from them and will not invalidate your tech support, and I'm using it right now.
If I had made a list of things I wanted to see added onto the TMF, blogs would literally have been the number one item. (Next on the list is those retarded "mood" icons the kids love, that places like myspace and facebook use: Jeff is feeling: )
(by the way, one of the great things about running the TMF is that I just uploaded that cynical smiley to flesh out my blog 😎 )
So in short, I'm really excited about this new toy. I think this is not just going to give people a fun new way to express themselves, but on a deeper level I think it's going to get people to open up more, and in the long run lead to a closer, tighter group.
