Right now, I'm just sitting here listening to some of my favorite Disney tunes and trying very hard to relax and not stress these last few weeks of school comin' up.
The weekend was a loooooooot of fun! 😀 On Thursday after school I had to sit through the waiting room of this office as my mom attended a meeting for some kind of new product by an MLM company called MAX...something about glutathione and free radicals. Idk...
Friday was really rainy and boring. Nothing much to say about that 'cause I remember just napping the day away.
Saturday was when all the fun began! 8D First, I headed to the Tri-Fest, found my cousin's church's cotton candy booth, and...stood around like a dumbass because they didn't need me at first. XD OH, here's a small pic of what the Tri-Fest looks like:
Since the church had two booths (one for cotton candy and one for BBQ), I decided to help out in the other booth (which was actually a trailer lol). And wow, that was very hectic. 😵 I had to sit by the window, take orders, and shout 'em out to the people makin' the food. And since I can't do math under stress, I made my cousin give back change since his major is Financing. It was a win-win. 8D But we got bored with that soon and went back to the cotton candy just as business was booming. At first it was soooo friggin' busy that the kids were buying the candy as fast as it was being spun. My job was the bag girl, just like last year. XD I would just hold open the bag and the woman spinning the cotton candy would stick it in. But I had to be very fast at whipping the bags out since the sugary stuff was being spun at lightning speed! 😱 Then they were hung up on these clothing lines hanging from the tent. 😛 And wow, I think I was the bag girl for 3 hours straight. 😱 And it made my arms really sore, too. =( Hey, you'd be in pain, too...if you had to flail your arms to make the bag open every 2 minutes for a while. >.< The Elvis impersonators in the park were pretty funny, though. XD
Well, after that was done I headed straight to youth group and it was a heap o' fun as usual! : And there were a few new people, too. My friend Josh brought his cute little boyfriend, my other friend Dustin brought his tall, pale-faced guy friend, and there was also a friendly new lesbian named Sid. 🙂 I even dragged my brother to the meeting, but he just stayed for the free food. xD Because apparently one of the other lesbians there was a being a bitch to him. See, before we eat we retrieve drinks and stuff from these storage closets and when my brother was helping out he heard the lesbo say, "Psh...figures the only one following us would be the straight kid". Now, I didn't hear it 'cause I was in the room at the time but from what my brother told me, the tone of her voice made it sound very derogatory. I don't know what to make of it actually...I guess the chick feels that the youth group is only for LGBT folks and straight kids aren't allowed in or something. But that's bullshit because it's a gay-straight alliance! 😱 So yeah...other than that little incident leaving a bad taste in my mouth, it was great! ^_^ I got to talk to Dustin a lot and made Sid feel welcome. Turns out she was such a chatter that it didn't even take much to welcome her. XD OH, and we made some safe sex kits while talking. Each one had a regular, snug, and an X-L condom as well as an info card. And the bitch lesbian demonstrated how to turn a condom into a dental dam, which was...uh...interesting. But the snug condoms I had to stick inside the bags were lubricated and made my hands greasy. 🙁 OH, but this one thing happened that stuck in my mind (and you can probably imagine what it is). See, I was seated next to Sid and this gay guy named Chris when we were making safe sex kits and at one point, Chris actually tickled me on the side! 😱 But it was so quick that I could barely respond. :/ I wasn't surprised, really. xD I've seen him tickle the crap out of the bitch lesbian twice already, which is always rather amusing to watch. 😈 But yet again, it just wasn't enough to tell if I'm ticklish or not. Figures. >.> And the tall, hot transwoman I saw at gay prom showed up towards the end with her tiny girlfriend. 8D Such a cute couple.
And after that we went to the movie theater to see "Death at a Funeral"! : Neither Dustin nor Josh could come, but it was still good. =) And I've promised Dustin that I would see his high school production of "Jesus Christ: Superstar" this Sunday. Can't wait for that...I just looooove m00sikals. >:3 So yeah...it was only me, Sid, another lesbian, and one of the gay guy couples that showed up to the theater along with the youth leader. And I found out that the reason why poor Sid found this youth group was because she was KICKED OUT of her church's youth group. Yeah, she told me that her pastor told her she was a sinner for liking girls and that if she were to stay in the youth group she was forbidden to touch or hug any of the other girls there...otherwise she had to get the fuck out! What the mother fuck---?! Religious abuse is one my biggest pet peeves and it's EXACTLY why I try my best to disassociate myself with that particular brand of Christianity. >.< It's just so sad that a great kid like her as well as countless other LGBT youth throughout the world have to put up with such hate all the freakin' time.
The movie was all right. Pretty funny at times and I liked how all the various storylines of the characters came together at the end. I liked how it poked fun at homophobia by stating that a family would try sooo hard to cover up a male/male relationship of a dead family member that they'd even tie up a midget and force-feed him pills.
Sunday's Tri-Fest day was a lot more fun than Saturday's...mainly because it was a lot less crowded AND I saw one of my good friends from school that I hadn't seen in four years! 😀 God, I love her so much. She's an incredible human being, that girl. I also saw one of the girls from my middle school's b-ball team. =) I used to be the water girl (aka "manager) of the team and it was fun seeing that red-headed girl (who I've secretly nicknamed Pippi Longstocking) eat a big ol' corndog, just as unselfconscious as ever. I remember how obsessed I was over her...hmmm....it might've been a crush. And not only was I the bag girl again, but I also got to hunt around for a dill pickle. =^_^= I didn't find any (they were all fried...blah), but I did purchase about 5 small containers of frozen pickle juice called pickle sickles. :
Aaaaand that was it for my weekend. >:3
I may enjoy my alone time, but I also love gettin' out of the house and doin' stuff. So glad that I now have my youth group to look forward to each weekend. I love just about everyone there.
The video of the day will be a little number from the remake of the musical, "Bye Bye Birdie" featuring Jason Alexander. If this song doesn't make you smile, then nothing will:
