An interesting week to be sure. We lost an employee to the dreaded CDL Drug Test. This guy had been there about twenty four years and was a master at dodging work as well as "the bullitt" concerning drug testing. Working with loud heavy equipment is dangerous enough at times and you need to be wide awake every second you are operating one. Luckily this person didn't kill anyone but came damn close a few times. The surprise testing usually occurs on the first Monday every four months. Yeah, not really a surprise is it. But fate being as it is the people giving the tests were going to be closed and it was decided they do the federally mandated tests a week early. To make things short he resigned the next day in order to keep his retirement and end any unpleasantries before the test results were finished and he would be dismissed. By leaving on his own at that time this will not follow him on his work record.
A few of us have been playing around with the proposed new chatroom in the Tickling Discussion forum. This, in my opinion will be a lot of fun as well as getting people to talk with each other. Putting faces as well as voices to the people you've been talking to for years is quite an experience. The only drawback I can see is the possibility of people perhaps going to far with the video feed and showing certain "attributes" for merely shock value or trolling for face to face arguements. Time will tell and I hope I'm wrong about this. This tool is perfect for bringing more of the community out to get to know each other. Kudos to MTP Jeff on this new experiment!
