I've been around this site for quite some time...incredible to see the growth of the community. What a great job Jeff and the moderators have done to keep it going for so long.
I've come and gone to the site but have spent a lot more time here i'd say since the fall. One area of the site i spend a lot more time in now is the chat room. While there's the downtime that's always happened with people pm'ing most of the time in general the I believe the overall participation had been much better than it used to be.
I probably don't really need to make the analogy that the chat room is kinda like going to the bar but for me that's exactly what it feels like, reminds me of the old bar days....
You meet and chat with people you click with right away and then there's those where you chat with for a few minutes and you can quickly tell the chat's not going well.
Biggest difference I see is that people are definitely....for lack of a better term, nicer here it seems these days. When there is discussion it's broad and quite interesting which is awesome. When you do pm with someone and it doesn't go well it's not a big deal. I used to take it personally but not anymore. We all have different tastes and reasons we come here and go into chat. Not sure that a blog post is the place to write about this but this site is great and I hope everyone gets what they're looking for here.
