It's been a few weeks since coming back to the 'net, and I've kinda mulled around the idea of writing a little blog to give detail to what has happened in the recent months.
Following a rather rude disembarking from my father-in-law's (without a thank you for all the help we gave, mind you), we moved to a little piece of hell called Kennedale, Tx.
Kids, lemme tell ya, this place WAS the Twilight Zone. And, no, there weren't any sparkly vampire wanna-be's, either. This place was the technical middle of nowhere. No TV reception, barely any cell reception, no delivery services except the post office. Not to mention being surrounded by drama llamas who drank, stole, did drugs and caused problems on a daily basis.
This place is, was, and will be a terrible place to live and an even worse place to raise kids. Too much shit in one tiny place.
After being invited by a couple of friends to help take over the payments on a nice place in Arlington (where I wanted to be in the first place), Hillari and I looked into all the different possibilities. Once we were confident enough in the decision to move in, off we went.
We got the house on Christmas Eve and moved in a few weeks later. Since then, the quality of life, overall, has dramatically increased. Here, we are closer to hospitals, grocery stores and our individual workplaces than before.
With the acquisition of the new place, we can now begin to live as we wish rather than have our lives forcefully invaded by the scum that lived around us previously.
In time, Hillari and I will seek out our own place for just the two of us so we can begin our family and careers.
I'm thankful for all the calls and messages from people who were concerned about us. Glad to see this old site still about. In a few more days I should be back to the same hateful grouch I usually am.
