We got back to the hotel, and I called US Air about my lost bag. I was sucked into that black hole known as an automated answering system. If Dante were with us today, I have no doubt he would expand the Circles of Hell to include this scourge upon humanity. One can only hope those responsible for this instrument of torture will spend eternity endlessly pressing numbers on cell phones, only to be directed back to the main menu.

Giving up on all hope of talking to a living person I jumped on the hotel shuttle to the airport. After standing in line for an hour or so, I had only a husband and wife with three children between me and the desk. They were from California, on the way to vacation in Italy. All of their checked luggage was missing, and they had less then two hours before their plane took off. They were told that when and if their luggage was found, it would be sent to Italy. They had to board their flight with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a few small carry on items.

Then, it was my turn. After much pecking around on the computer and a few phone calls I was told my bag was now officially missing. When it was found, it would be delivered to the hotel, or send back to Kansas City where I could claim it. I thought hmm, heard this story before. At that point, I gave up all hope. I filled out a form I was given, left it at the desk and returned to the hotel.

The rest of the day consisted of hanging around, visiting with friends and relaxing. Saturday night was pretty much the same. Dinner, drinks, people coming and going as they wished. It was a good time. 🙂

In Part VI, Sunday, and saying goodbye.

Good for you Jo. Don't sweat anything he says. He put owning a 4-wheeler before making sure clothes are on his son's back. 33 going on 12 maybe? He's no man. He can play all the games he wants like he is 18 too, but the reality is, he was holding you back, not the other way around.

If you think it is huge, then it is. 🙂 Congrats Jo, but I'm sorry to hear that your ex husband is being such a dick. =/

I'm beyond proud of you. :yayzorz:

And even more grateful than usual for the two good men who love me, may I never take them for granted :redheart:

You seem to be taking a lot of positive steps, Jo. Getting your own car insurance may sound like something minor, but it's impact on your life is huge. It really is something to be proud of.

As for him, don't listen to anything that comes out of his mouth. It's so obvious he's not worth your time and nothing more than a deadbeat. All his shit will come back and bite him in the ass. It's just a matter of time. Just keep doing what you're doing and stay strong.

Love ya and so proud of you.

We are so on the same page with this.

My mom was the same way. I had two choices, deal with her and her nazi way of running things, or live on the street. So, like you, my independence is important to me, no matter if I can only get it in small pieces.

I've never had a car or car insurance, but I think I know what you're feeling and it's pretty damn amazing.

Congrats.
