I was getting a pedicure the other day when the subject of massages came up between us.
She mentioned that her favorite type of massage was a scalp massage, and that she gave one to all of her facial clients.
Naturally, I let her know that foot massages were my favorite. I could (and have) enjoy one for an hour. But it's hard to find places in town that specifically offer foot massage.
"Foot massages have never done anything for me," she said.
She paused for a thought.
"Maybe it's because I'm ticklish," she said.
I smiled and laughed. And quickly analyzed the situation.
Here was an attractive woman babying my feet, admitting that hers were ticklish.
It would almost be a perfect situation to continue the conversation, tell her that I actually liked having my feet tickled, somehow possibly lead her to work one into our appointments as a regular item (we see each other monthly).
But it was pretty clear that tickling was a turn-off for her by saying that. Sometimes you've just got to read the relationship right and hold your tongue.
My vanilla life is chock full of people who have zero tolerance for tickling, and wistful moments like this.
So I'm pretty darn glad for y'all here at TMF. Let's talk tickling!
