With the situation regarding the law firm not resolved, and hanging, and the events of this week, I decided to take some time to myself at the casino today. I was down, and then was winning.
I got a call from my dad, saying that the lawyer we knew was "Shocked" that the firm didn't take the meeting with my supervisor and me. My dad asked me to send the lawyer a detailed e-mail of the exact events.
Since this is my career, and I can go to the casino.. tomorrow.. I immediately left the casino in a cab for home, a winner for the day from the slots, before even placing one bet on the horses.
I arrived home, and composed a detailed e-mail which I immediately sent to the lawyer, with copies to Keith, (my supervisor), and my dad, as well as a detailed email to Keith, explaining the reason for the email, and exactly what the lawyer wanted.
A short time later, I got an email from Keith, that he had sent to the lawyer, saying how "Mitch had gotten a little ahead of himself, and Keith was in the process of setting up a call with the lady who we thought we were meeting on Wednesday".
I said nothing, because it';s not my place to express it to my supervisor.. but.. I almost think said email made me look bad. It was essentially "Mitch overreacted", instead of understanding that I tried to do what the lawyer wanted, by explaining the situation as it happened.
A conference call is supposed to happen sometime next week about this situation.
We'll see what happens next.
The good thing is: Tomorrow, I can take time to myself at the casino, for both slots, and horses, for as long as I want, as the law firm, and Aflac, are both closed on Saturday.
Hopefully, something positive will come of this. The twists ,turns, and delays, are getting to be enough already.
