My Dad had a bad fall yesterday.
He had to go to the ER and had stitches.
When I saw my Dad's number at 7 something this morning, I knew something was wrong. We've been speaking more regularly, and are hopefully getting along much better.
When my Dad does call me, it's never that early, which is why I knew something was not right
Then he said almost matter of factly.
"Oh, Mitch I had a fall yesterday, had to go to the ER, and get stitches"
I was half out of it when he called, so other than saying something like. "I' m sorry, I hope you feel better".
Later on I sent him a more detailed supportive email.
I was thinking.
Basically about myself. With all the seizures, and near death experiences I've had with the epilepsy.
I usually take each seizure in stride.
The only thing that really upset me about my own health was with the colonoscopy last year.
Somehow, when something bad happens to your father, it hits you more than it does when it happens to yourself.
Hopefully God Willing my Dad will recover and be okay.
He's still having pain from the back surgery he had last summer.
I feel terrible for him that this happened as well.
I know that when you have a father who is my Dad's age. (80) you just have to hope and pray he is as healthy as possible, and take each health situation as it comes. .
