Ok, so I'm not a vapid blog reader (or writer for that matter), but I do read a lot of them from time to time, especially friends. As I stated once before, they're a good way of clearing clutter in your head and also a good way to see the frame of mind of others. The comments section is also good in the sense that it allows some interaction. It could be used to give advice, ask questions or share alternate views. Personally, I have never used either the blog itself or the comments to attack any particular individual in the past, nor do I intend to in the future.
However, this is something that is now irking me and I feel a need to get it off my chest. Recently, I made a comment to another's blog. My comment was meant to be helpful and, in all honesty, did not go along with the comments of others as well as the blog entry. Quite frankly, I felt most of the comments were condescending and basically ass-kissing. To each their own. My comment did not feed into what the blogger was trying to convey. And it was summarily......deleted.
Why? Because it's not what the blogger wanted to hear? Or did they think I was attacking them? Either way, I was only trying to give some advice to someone who seems to be in a really bad frame of mind of late. While it's not someone that I would actually call a friend, as I've had little interaction with them in the past, we do have mutual friends. And anyone who knows me knows that if you're a friend of one of my friends, I will generally look out for you if I can.
I guess what really bothers me is the fact that it seems like a form of censorship, which I despise. Granted, it's their blog. But my comment was not full of foul language or anything that could be deemed offensive. So I guess the not knowing the reason behind the deletion is what gets me.
Someone hit me back if you ever figure out the answer.
