I know that I have many things to be thankful for.
This year, the one thing I am most thankful for is this.
Tomorrow is my father's 82nd brthday, and he is still here with me to celebrate it on Monday.
As some who have read my blog posts may know, my father was very sick in the hospital in May after having emergency surgery, and nearly passed away.
He was hospitalized for almost two weeks, in ICU and CCU for some of that time.
Thank God, he was able to make it home.
My Dad has had other serious health challenges this year.
On Monday I will be meeting him for lunch to celebrate his birthday.
As might be expected with a man my Dad's age who has serious health conditions, he has good days and bad days.
Next weekend, we are supposed to go together to a family party to celebrate my uncle';s recent 75th birthday.
I am hopeful of having a nice lunch with my father this Monday.
I hope and pray to have him with me to celebrate his birthday for many years to come.
