I had two things on my mind all day. First, after the end of my shift I could look forward to a four day weekend. Second, a brisket plate from Danny's, my neighborhood BBQ joint. It's my kind of place, located in an ancient crumbling building, walk up service only. They do have three dilapidated picnic tables out front if you wish to dine on site.
I walk up to the window only to find they are closing for the day because all the BBQ is gone, forcing me to settle for a meal of Popeye's chicken. I like Popeye's now and then, but it was not what I was craving.
Life is so unfair sometimes.
