So as not to add more fuel to the fire of the thread... I decided to post a discussion I had with my aunt about this situation with Maria in my blog.
I told her the whole situation.. both sides of everything.. How I confessed my foot fetish to Maria, and now wanted to bring up about being ticklish. She knows I belong to a forum where people have tickle and foot fetishes. I told her about my post in regard to asking Maria about her ticklishness on the forum.. and the backlash that it has received. Her analysis was as follows.
My aunt took a middle of the road position on the subject. I told her how everyone on the forum was so sure that when Maria said she wasn't right for anyone, she was in fact "letting me down gently". My aunt's view was that while that analysis may be right.. what Maria really said to me, about not being right for anyone now.. could also be true.
My aunt is 65 years old.. She has much dating experience, and has lived with, and been in relationships with men. She told me that there have been times in her life, when she simply didn't want to be involved with anyone, due to it not feeling right for herself at the time. Another possibility my aunt mentioned. I mentioned about Maria's "Friend with Benefits" to her. My aunt thinks that maybe Maria is more serious with this guy than she led on, and just doesn't want to tell me the true nature of the relationship.
Although my aunt and I have always had a communicative relationship, I can tell everyone for a fact that she isn't this person to just "Take Mitch's side" on everything. If I'm wrong, she says I'm wrong, in a strong, direct way.
I'm inclined to agree with my aunt. I think it could be either way.
I think I'm next going to see Maria on Monday. I haven't seen her since last Monday. I will post an update at that time in my blog if warranted.
