Liner Notes: I came to realize that I really do not have a category in my works that would fit all these new monster and fetish amalgams I have rolling in my head for C.A.B.'s Halloween Hoo Ha 2012. It's a hybrid of two of my interests that I have flirted with before on occasion, but I think now deserve a place of their own, so without further self-indulgent ado, I present: Doktor C.A.B.enstein's House of Fetish Monsters.
I hope to revisit all my fav Monster and sci-fi flicks that kept me up, glued to the t.v. on dark summer nights, knowing for sure that the wolfman would be staring back at me if I dared look at the window. And now in twisted homage to these classics I will be adding my very own brand of fetish flair.
And what better way to a great 'head' start than with my all-time favorite B Movie rubber suit creature The Monster of Piedras Blancas which caused a real stir in 1959 with its blatant depiction of a decapitated head (gasp!) As the story is told, a lighthouse keeper has been feeding a local monster, so as to keep it sated and protect his daughter's virtue (wat?) But she's a hopeless slut anyway and needless to say the monster runs amok when he finds out. …no, not really. But heads do roll. On an interesting note, having loved this film all my life, it is only today that I realize the monster's face is based on traditional Chinese Foo Dog designs. Guess the costume designer had lunch in Chinatown that day.
