Alright, after being locked up inside my house for a good part of the last two weeks I have now finally completed the game I've been fanboying over ever since it was announced some 4 years ago. Feels good, man! 😀
Shit, I can still remember the first time I saw that E3 trailer... it is still epic, even to this day.

Now as all RPG-enthusiasts know, the "golden standard" for these kinds of games would be the Baldur's Gate series, and the producers and writers over at Bioware have said that this would indeed be the "spiritual successor" of BG.
So then, was it? Well, it's kind of like Baldur's Gate, but still not. It's MUCH darker and grittier (elves being second class citizens, mages being hunted down by powerful templars, etc.), but the tactical aspect to the game that defined Baldur's Gate is certainly there (good luck just charging the enemy head on, even at the easiest difficulty), as is the "heavy role-play" element.
What disappoints me a bit is the length of the game... Something like 30-40 hours as compared to the 100+ of BG. Still, it's definitely the #2 game on my all-time ranking, and the replay-value is just ridiculous! There's an insane amount of possible endings to the game, and a plethora of "origin stories" for your main character, which will all change the gameplay experience.
I also love how Ferelden (the country you're in) is basically one bad day away from collapsing into tribal barbarism. But with that said, I'm off to re-play the game with my new mage!
If anyone else has already purchased the game/will purchase it because I say so 🙂mad🙂 then feel free to compare your characters to mine at the Dragon Age website: http://social.bioware.com/playerprofile.php?nid=2301438955&game=dragonage
Oh and feel free to send me a friends request on there too 😀
Video of the day will be a clip of my favorite NPC in the game. I guess I have a soft spot for the funny ones. 😛
