I hope and pray that the 100 man law firm signs up, so that I can finally get a good client at Aflac. If that doesn't happen, I'm sadly ready to just give it up, in spite of how hard I've worked. In addition to financial need, I cant take the roadblocks and lies anymore.
Those who know me, may remember that when I first joined the forum when I was living in PA, I was working in a company called Market America, which is much like Amway. My mom and I had to leave the company some years ago, because unfortunately, it didn't work for us. However, the people we worked with are very kind, and I still keep in touch with my sponsor in the company, Butch, on Facebook. The man is a gentleman. There are people in Market America, who did/do make a lot of money. Unfortunately, even though my mom and I tried diligently for two and a half years, such didn't happen for us.
I came up with the idea to try and get a pipeline to JR Ridinger, the president of Market America, through Butch, and the people I used to work with in the company., I had presented the idea of going to JR, to my favorite person, my supervisor, Keith. He originally told me that such was fine, and I could go for it.
So... I found out today that Butch is still involved in Market America. I think I had accidently unfriended him on Facebook, when I had meant to unfriend someone else, so I lost touch with him for a while. Anyhow, the other day Butch re accepted my friendship request, and when I found out he is still in Market America, I emailed Keith, to tell him that Butch could be a link to not only JR, but also other people in the company who I know have big organizations. At that point, Keith completely contradicted himself, and after originally telling me it was okay to approach JR and others in the company, Keith now said "Market America is a network marketing company, and not a good fit. He then used what seems to be his favorite expression to :Stay Away.
No chains, no resturants, no stores. No Market America with people I know for years, and had worked with.
Cold calling is going to be very difficult. My speech is better, but.. after the altercation with Keith today, I was stuttering terribly.
I have two possible last hopes left. The 100 man law firm, and my dad knows a guy who is a board member of some nursing homes, a road Keith said would be okay, if we could get it. If neither of those happen, and I try cold calling, and it doesn't work, I think I'm going to have to be forced to make one of the most difficult decisions of my life, and leave Aflac. I don't WANT to do that. However, I cant take the roadblocks Keith puts in anymore.
If the law firm signs, or I can get some of the nursing homes, or both, it changes the whole landscape, in that I'm then making money, and it buys me time to work more on my speech, and search for sources that Keith will allow. If I make enough money to cover my apartment, etc, and my dad doesn't have to help me anymore, it even gives me time to work on the side with the other business I have the trademark on.
Sigh! I hope to catch a break soon.
