Family Betrayal..

I'm going to post the latest with my family, and then close comments.. as I don't want backlash. I just wanted to let everyone know how fucked up this is.

My aunt the artist called me this morning, ranting on about her life, her husband, and her concern about my cousin's health, because he is overweight. Fine. In fact, I wrote my cousin a message on Facebook, telling him I'm concerned about him.

Then, when I started to tell her my upset with my situation with my father.. she exploded. Not only did she explode.. she hung up on me, and took it upon herself to call my father.,. without my knowledge.. telling him how "Upset and concerned she is about me". This, from someone, who watched his and my estrangement for 20 years, and did nothing to help. Of course, my father took no responsibility for his actions, and blamed the whole thing on me., as is his habit. I thought my aunt really crossed the line. My aunt is also constantly dissing my mom, blaming my mom for making my life the way it is. I'm enraged at her for attacking my dead mother, the only person in this world who loved me. All the other people, my father, my aunts, even my friends. All they give a fuck about is themselves.

My plan now is to go see an attorney about my financial issues, and hopefully to get the birth cert issue ironed out, so I can get my ID. Next comes a job.

Bottom line, my family drives me crazy. Not only because they don't care.. but also because they are abusive.

This is a situation that isn't going to get any better. I'm particularly saddened about Maria, because it would have been nice to have had someone on my side.. to help me, with what all these people are doing to me.

I'm going to do my part. Job, business, more social life. I know with them, things will always be as they are,.

I was gonna try to read that article so I could say something about the stupidity of the arguments in it. You know, to cheer you up... but I only got to the third paragraph. Amanda, the bloke who wrote that is a self-righteous shithead; you really shouldn't bother with it - let alone let it get to you. Lurvz you, sis! :bubbleheart:

Heh...it does kind of amuse to see people try to come up with clever ideas against gay marriage. I've seen some who've said that it's against evolution because there's no procreation in gay couples.
Heh, well a couple of years ago I read an article about these two male octopuses. They weren't even of the same species, but they were still "getting it on" if you know what I'm saying. If it's against evolution then maybe the fundies want to start patrolling the deep sea to prevent any and all interracial gay squid sex as well? 🙄

Oh well that same website refers to another article with "secular defenses" for "traditional" marriage. >.>

Oh wait...that one isn't even about gay marriage. 😵 Proof that crosswalk.com is fail.

And yeah, you're right. I just have those odd moments where it deeply disturbs me. It truly hurts sometimes to feel left out in your own religion. :ermm:

Interracial gay squid sex?! LMAO! :rowfull: And yeah, homosexuality is found in many animal species, so there's another point to debunk that argument. 😛

Perfectly understandable of course. 🙂 But tolerance and understanding is slowly increasing even amongst Christians, right? And besides, not that I'm an expert on this or anything as I'm not religious, but isn't the only person you really have to answer to either like God or Jesus or something? 😉 😛 Seriously, no one else has the right to judge you, so just let them live in their own little hypocritical bubble; it will pop sooner or later.

You really shouldn't read that stuff, because it's never going to make your life better, or you happier. Life will put out plenty of negativity and obstacles for you all on its own, you might as well spare yourself whatever you can 🙂

And keep in mind also that not every version of Christianity is your religion. I know plenty of open-minded Christians who have no problem with homosexuals or any other sexual preference, and who don't find that it contradicts anything they believe spiritually. There are as many ways to misinterpret the bible as there are dimwits reading it.

It never occurred to me that the uber-conservative branches of Christianity wouldn't even be considered my religion. Well, I do find myself wanting to disassociate myself with Fundies rather than bothering to see the common ground we might share. But Jesus did say to love my enemies. Dammit! >.< LOL

Sure, just for starters there's the three main branches of Christianity: Catholic, Protestant, and slightly more distantly, Mormon. You're probably only one of those 🙂

And among those sub-groups, there are even smaller groups, all the way down to your local church, which will have its own specific idiosyncrasies and ways of interpreting certain parts of the bible and other teachings.

Here's the opening paragraph on Protestantism, from wikipedia, which illustrates the variations just among that particular group:

Protestantism is a branch within Christianity, containing many denominations with some differing practices and doctrines, that principally originated in the sixteenth-century Protestant Reformation. It is considered to be one of the major divisions within Christianity, together with the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Anglican traditions. Some groups that are often loosely labeled "Protestant" do not use the term to define themselves and some tend to reject it because of the implication of being non-traditional. Anglicanism, for instance, which gained much of its distinctive identity during and immediately following the English Reformation, is viewed by many of its adherents as not having its origins in the Reformation but as a "Reformed Catholic" tradition. Likewise, many Baptists and Pentecostals do not see themselves as descended from 16th-century Protestant movements. As such, the term Protestantism is often used loosely to denote all non-Roman Catholic varieties of Western Christianity, rather than to denote those churches adhering to the principles described below.

Trust your faith, and yourself, and don't let yourself get too caught up in how other people think you should serve God 🙂

Don't bother even reading that crap when you already know what they are going to say. You know what "opinions" most of them will spout anyway, so just live your life to the best of your ability and have fun, and love who you are going to love. You and I have a pretty alike view when it comes to our faith. Don't go seeking out negative rooms that will just make you feel bad or guilty about yourself. If love was practiced as much as guilt is in religious circles, they'd be a heck of a lot better off for it. Be happy. 🙂

This Christian loves you just the way you are. :cuddle:

I think this:
it's against evolution because there's no procreation in gay couples.

is the stupidest argument because if gays can't marry because there won't be any procreation then people who are infertile can't marry either. :sowrong:

For me, having children will be a huge difficult thing because of my problems with weight and a messed up menstrual.

Dumbasses. :disgust:

Eh, you ignore those sites and continue to be the wonderful girl you are! Jeff is right, there are lots of straight Christians that are perfectly ok with someone's sexual orientation, myself being one of them! I support gay marriage, gay rights, etc. Some of my best friends throughout my life have been gay and I've seen the struggle they've had between being who they are and their church and it's just not fair. There is a neighborhood here in Pittsburgh called Shadyside that is well, very rainbow-happy, which is so awesome to see. Lots of us straight folks hang out there too because of how great the vibe is! Everyone just encourages you to be who you are and heck, there's even a Christian church there that has a huge rainbow flag hanging on the side! And there's a gay-friendly temple and even a Catholic church that has services for the LGBT community every single Sunday. If you ever come here, I'm so taking you out that way! It's so cool! Anyhoo, sorry that those stupid sites pissed you off. You're a terrific person with a huge heart and we're all blessed that you're here! :twohugs: :rainbow:

@Krazie Jay - you're right...as usual ^.~

@Nicole - Yeah, I'm the same way. Even if I did want to have a children, that'd be an issue for me, too since I have this repaired heart defect. So pregnancy would just put a strain on my heart anyway.

@Angel - LOL I should totally move to Pittsburgh! 😀 That sounds like a gay haven. 8D XD I've heard of "gayborhoods", but I don't think there is one anywhere near me. :ermm: It's a darn shame, too. Anyway, you are just too sweet and I really appreciate all your support. :twohugs:

Yeah, I know all about Protestantism and I've identified as such for quite a while. I was a Baptist first, then a Methodist, then back to Baptist. Now I identify more with the mainline Protestant denominations than the evangelical ones. 😀
