After doing as asked yesterday, and going around to some places in Forest Hills to drum up business, they wanted me to come into the downtown office today to cold call.
I may have posted this before. When I get very nervous, I stutter. I had speech therapy for many years, but it still happens. The thing is.. even with people at Aflac.. I speak completely fluently. I made some cold calls, and after a while,. the district manager.. K, who I really thought doesn't like me, was sympathetic., He called me over, and told me to go home. We agreed that Im going to make "Corporate Visits" around the neighborhood, as I've been doing, after I attend three more training sessions next week.
When I called my father.. he was very supportive. His bar to discuss ,my situation with me, seems to be how far I've come. Everyone has bumps in the road in work/business. Luckily they cant fire me, and I found out from K that all new employees get a bonus for becoming new employees. I guess this is for support/financial help, as we are trying to drum up business.
I was pretty pissed when I came home, so I did an unwise thing, and went to a place I probably shouldn't have. I lost a little bit. I haven't been going there nearly as much because I've been working. I'm going tomorrow again because my dad is away, and my friends are busy. After tomorrow, I'm going to refocus on work.
Barney is coming up to have dinner with me tonight, which will help.
Hopefully just a bump in the road to what has been major progress. Hopefully more progress will continue from here on in.
