Last night was my five year class reunion. Out of a class of 70, eleven of us showed up. Not really surprising considering it's a FIVE YEAR REUNION. 😛
I went mainly for curiosity sake and very low expectations. I was never close to my classmates. My closest friends were in the class below me. I got along with the majority of my classmates, and there are some whom if they dropped dead tomorrow, I wouldn't miss them at all. 😎
My whole feeling towards the reunion was one of indifference. I expected the people who would be coming to congregate to the friends that they had in school. In a way, it sort of happened. Initially I sat by myself, but Tom invited me to sit at the table where he was sitting. My expectation of not enjoying the event did not happen. I actually enjoyed myself there. 😱
It was fun looking through our time capsule that we had put together in sixth grade. The things we put in there was just ridiculous, but very important to a bunch of twelve-year-olds. It was also nice seeing the ones who showed up. I have most of my classmates as friends on FB so I'm not completely out of touch with them, but talking to them face to face was nice.
I'm glad I went because I ended up proving myself wrong. I didn't think I'd have fun, but I did. 🙄
