ro·man·tic
rÅˈman(t)ik/
(adjective)
adjective: romantic; adjective: Romantic
2. of, characterized by, or suggestive of an idealized view of reality.
*"a romantic attitude toward the past"
synonyms: idealistic, idealized, romanticized, unrealistic, fanciful, impractical;
head-in-the-clouds, starry-eyed, optimistic, hopeful, visionary, utopian, fairy-tale*
Sometimes, (a lot of times) I let myself fly too close to the sun and I get burnt, I can't help it. It doesn't matter how much I try to keep my feet on the ground, I always end up flying high in my own spiral of dreams and illusions and I find it very hard to come down.
It is hard because I don't really want to come down. I like it there. Everything is better when my head is up in the clouds. But when you see life through rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags.
This is nobody's fault but my own, because I can't seem to learn from the past. Actually, I do not think there's been anything to learn about the past; because those feelings, dreams and ideas made me feel more good things than bad things and I treasure them dearly.
Unfortunately, the bad things tend to be stronger. They come and swipe everything away and I am just standing there, witnessing the downfall of my latest dream. I just pick up the pieces of my broken dreams and back away...
Sometimes, (a lot of times) I let myself fly too close to the sun and I get burnt. But it doesn't matter, because when my dreams reborn from its own ashes once more, I will be ready to fly again.
