During the summer of '08, I was walking nearly every day. I started off every other day then I increased it to every day. By the end of the summer, I was walking 2 miles every day and I had lost 20 pounds. It was something I was immensely proud of myself for doing it because it felt incredibly good.
Then I fell off the wagon and didn't even resume my walking at all last summer. I blame it on pure laziness; I did not feel motivated so I stopped. Stupid me, I gained back the weight and with my own health concerns facing me, I need to get off my sorry ass and do that again.
Starting this weekend, I'm going to do that. Yesterday I was working on downloading and putting songs on my iPod. Listening to my iPod helped immensely because it kept my mind off the fact that I'M EXERCISING! 😛 And it made walking fun. I'm also chopping off my hair tomorrow so when I put my hair up, it's up. My hair reaches to my lower back and the last time I had it cut was two years ago, but I had only cut off about three inches. This time it's going to be more, at least up to my shoulders. I'm hoping it'll be about ten inches so I can donate it to Locks of Love - they make wigs for cancer patients. 🙂
I'm going to start walking again, and I hope to lose at least five pounds by next doctor's appointment, which is at the end of April. I also hope to lose the 20 pounds I regained by the end of the summer. Either way, any weight I lose will be awesome and getting me to a healthier weight. That's what's important. I just need to get off my ass and do it.
