Getting screwed over at work.

Back in April, two days after coming back on the road,I had to go to the emergency room near Nashville,TN. There were exhaust fumes coming into my cab. This happened on a Wed. I was treated and released that night for carbon monoxide poisoning. That could have killed me.

I was off work for seven days. Saturday,I had to go back for a followup exam, and the doctor had to sign a form and send to my company saying it was okay to go back to work, I found out on Sat, I had to wait until Monday to get a DOT physical exam, due to the nature of my work related injury. This was over Easter weekend.

On that Monday, the physical went well for me. The truck did not get fixed until Tuesday evening. The fumes were coming in through the hole where the shifter is. Not even 200,000 miles on it,and that happens. Great quality control International. :disgust:

Workman's comp paid for the hospital and follow up clinic, and my company paid for the DOT physical, and the motel room. Now,they usually pay what is called breakdown pay, starting 12 hours after truck goes in to be fixed. It is usually $100 a day. I was down seven days.

It looks like I will not get any breakdown pay at all. I have been fighting this for roughly three weeks now. Last week,I was told I would be getting it. Now................No fucking answer,. Workman's comp will not pay any lost wages, because I was able to be released to go back to work after that followup exam on a Saturday.

Seven days I was not able to work due to mechanical issues causing me to be shut down by safety dept. That is what I am being told by those idiots I work for. Safety dept had you shut down for a few days they say, Well duh. It was a mechanical issue that caused me to go to hospital.

The company I work for,and International better pray I truly have nothing to lose. A man with nothing to lose is the most dangerous man to exist.
Get a lawyer you may say dear reader............ I pay a few thousand bucks, and take a chance on being fired to get a few hundred bucks?

One more reason I believe in Communism. Big business will fuck the workers over in a heartbeat.

Dear reader........................I hope you enjoy the stuff you have, and the food you eat. You have it because people like me put ourselves at risk and danger every day hauling stuff for you all.
