Melissa Marie XXX, 17, of CT, the daughter of Kenneth N. and Kimberly A. passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at MidState Medical Center.
Melissa is survived her by brother, Zechariah David ; her paternal grandparents, Victor A. and Jean M. ; her maternal grandparents, Ted D. and Judy A. ; her aunts and uncles, Pam and Joe W, Chris and Don , Mike and Laura , Debbie and Dale , and Ted and Sandy ; and her cousins, Rachel, Sara, Michelle, Elizabeth, Christopher, Andrew, Ben, Caleb, Tyianna, Jessica, Paul, Emily, Madison, Jeff, Joey, and Rachel.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1991, in xxxx where she had lived her entire life. Melissa was born with a congenital heart defect and was seen frequently by doctors at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Boston Children's Hospital. She created many friendships with the doctors, nurses and staff. Melissa attended High School as a senior majoring in art. Her favorite type of art was free-hand drawing and working with clay. Melissa, like all teenagers, liked video games, playing with her brother and friends on the Wii. Melissa was also an avid reader, frequently going to Borders and purchasing books with her friends Laura and Rebecca. She attended New Life Church and was active in the youth group and Sunday morning nursery. Melissa loved animals; her favorite was her cat Phil, and she loved riding horses.
