They need to go play in traffic. Seriously!
Recently I learned that a former schoolmate of mine had been sick for a while and had been taken to the hospital where they found out that she had a brain tumor. Lisa was a year behind me and I wasn't friends with her, but we live in a small town so I knew her and her family fairly well. Actually I am good friends with her cousin Leeana.
Anyway, I've been keeping her and her family in my prayers. There's a website through the hospital where family can keep loved ones up to date on everything that's happening. Her mother has done a wonderful job keeping everyone informed on how Lisa is doing. She's made it through a second surgery and her mother says that she's recovering excellently. 😀
My mom today got a phone call from my grandma who called to ask about Lisa. Apparently her neighbor Fay - a woman who is a nosy busy body and spreads gossip like there's no tomorrow - had told my grandma that she heard from Wendy (the mother of a good friend of mine) that Lisa has brain CANCER and that she only has like a month to live.
I know for a fact that Wendy would never have said that. I firmly believe Fay twisted what Wendy said and in turn spread that rumor instead of the truth. Thankfully my mother corrected my grandma, but it sickened me to hear what Fay had said. My family doesn't like Fay and we only put up with her because she's a friend of my grandma and watches out for her.
I hate gossips. Especially the ones who twist words around and tell everything but the truth.
Like I said in the beginning, they need to go out and play in traffic.
