I posted about my knoickout Dr visit last week, where my weight was the highest it has been since 2005, and my BP was very high , although not as high as it was at this time last year.
I've posted about my Dad's serious and life threatening health issues this year.
My Dad has the best attitude about life for someone who is 82 years old, and has dealt with the health issues he has.
After he read me the riot act about my Dr visit last week with one sentence "Mitch's that's crazy!"
We talk every day now to both support each other and keep in touch.
While I wanted not to divulge the details about the visit, my Dad knew I was going, called me to find out the results, and could tell that my voice did not sound right, and said.
"You dont sound right, what's the matter"
At that point I told him.
then, when he called me yesterday, his first question was "How have your eating habits been?"
I told him that I completely gave up the Nestle Tollhouse Cookies that were the culprit of this rapid and massive weight gain.
My Dr and his nurse told me last week.
"Mitch, food can be an addiction. We know what you and your Dad have been going through this year, but you have to watch your own health. Your father who loves you so much, wants you to do this"
I have to get rid of 15 lbs ASAP according to my DR. In 2005, the last time I had a serious weight problem, I went from 197 pounds on March 17, to 169 pounds in the second week of July.
I know that metabolism at age 52 is nowhere near as good or fast as it is at 35.
My "goal" is to drop the 15 lbs either by New Years or at latest my birthday on January 23.
If I dont eat any cookies, and limit the fried foods, hopefully I can do this.
I've already largely given up Asian food earlier this year, which is why the weight on the Dr's scale surprised me so , even though I knew I had gained some.
Sigh!
I'm going to do my part the best that I can, and hopefully by doing that, the fat will come off ASAP
