Oh gosh, I've never been so busy as I have this week. 😵 I had someplace to go about every day. Oddly enough, I'll have more downtime when I'm back in school starting tomorrow. lol XD
Okay, sooo...Thursday I had Thanksgiving dinner and it was a lot of fun. 😀 Certainly the BEST Turkey Day I've ever had in my life. Mainly because it was held at my aunt's house instead of my memaw's place (pronounced meh-maw, not mee-maw lol...hey, it's a southern way of saying it for folks of German descent). My uncle is so hilarious. When we all stood around holding hands, he said we were doing "gay stuff". XD If only he knew. 😉 And I loved playing with their dog, Rosie. : She's a Chesapeake Bay retriever with golden fur. She was a lot of fun to play with, although...she kept trying to hump my leg. Everytime I pet her and she was standing in between my legs, I would pat my hand on the seat next to me to get her to jump up on the couch, but she took that as a cue for legseks. 😱
Black Friday was especially busy. I went to see the New Moon movie with a good friend of mine and, oddly enough...I actually enjoyed the movie. 😵 It was craptastic, of course. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, to be honest. The dialogue was terrible, cheesy, and stilted, but the look of the film was just gorgeous. Soundtrack is amazing, too (even though most of the songs have absolutely NOTHING to do with the film...which is probably why I love it so much).
And on that same day I went to the circus and felt like I was 8 years old again! I had me some cotton candy during intermission and I gave my green glow stick to the little toddler boy sitting in front of me. He was so cute. ^.^ He kept giving me high fives and saying 'hi'. I only wanted the stick for the opening "lights out" ceremony in the very beginning of the show, anyway. It's always so beautiful when it gets completely dark and you see nothing but glow sticks and light-up toys in the crowds of the indoor stadium. But it was hilarious because me and my brother kept making inside lesbian jokes to each other right in front of my dad and step-mom. He kept nudging me everytime the sexy, curvy, muscular ladies would climb up the ropes and perform their aerial acrobatics and I'd be like *___* He also kept winking at me when my dad said to him, "pick out your favorite [girl]". lol I love my big bro so much. And the bears on bicycles were amazing. 8D But..the clowns still scare me. :| I Roberts Stadium. They even hold concerts there, too. I saw one of my favorite bands, Skillet, for the first time in that place back in January of '08. As long as the Shriners keep sponsoring it, I'll never be too old for the circus.
Yesterday I helped set up the Christmas tree with the fam and afterward we had my favorite home-cooked meal of roast beef and mashed potatoes while watching an episode of The Waltons. We didn't put the lights or ornaments on the tree, though. We'll probably do that later in the week.
And today I went to this gorgeous ceremony at my aunt's Methodist church called "The Hanging of the Greens". It's where people from the church take turns decorating the sanctuary for the holidays and people get up on the podium to talk about the symbolism of each decoration. It was especially awesome when they hung up the wreaths and this woman sang "Where Are You Christmas". She also sang "Mary, Did You Know?" when they turned the lights out so we could see the ginormous Christmas tree in all its glory and that musical rendition was so indescribably beautiful that I had to think about the lyrics long afterward. God, that woman's voice has that certain star quality about it. So yeah, I had an incredible kick-off heading into the month of December.
I really really hope everyone else's holiday was just as spectacular as mine. Sorry I've not been posting on the forum, but one thing you all can count on is a semi-regular blog post just to let you know that I'm not dead. 😀
And I'll end this with a rather beautiful and kind of tear-jerking song I heard just now. This song is from one of my favorite books, The Hunger Games and it's called "Rue's Lullaby". If you've read the book, you'll know that the song is even more beautifully sad with the context in mind. :

Love that she sung it to "Kiss The Rain" by Yiruma. Now I'm gonna forever associate that tune with these words. D: It may not be the best sounding-song (since she auto-tuned her voice), but you have to admit that it's pretty awesome for a fan work.
