I'm going to post this here, and not close comments. All I can say is.. about this situation.. I knew better than anyone who bashed me.
Sometime ago.. I had posted about the radically different attitude of my friend Barney, when things are going well for him, as opposed to when things are going badly.
When things are going well, Barney is smug, arrogant, and cocky, to the point of being so offensive that one cant be around him. When things are going badly.. he's all "Please lick my wounds.. yada"
Recently.. he knows I've endured major disappointments with sources I've approached to do my new business.. sales I've attempted to make with my antiques business, and the whole situation with Maria.
He's away on a business trip now, and has been calling me multiple times a day, with a smug attitude, rubbing in my face how "Well" things are going for him.
To me, I think this is antisocial. When he was fired for the umpteenth time in 1999, and I was moving to PA from NJ.. and was happy to be getting away, he didn't want to hear one bit about my happiness with that.
Bottom line: I was 100% right with the Even Keel thread, even though I got blasted for it. Regardless of what is going on in my life,. Barney is best if things aren't going so well for him, because he becomes extremely offensive when things are going well. He acts like he's better than everyone else. Barney doesn't know this, but my friend Adam, and Adam's parents, really don't like him.
When I told him to cool it with his attitude.. his quip to me was "You have a good life.. you have me as your neighbor". Yeah. so I can keep hearing him be a smug asshole every day.
I'm hopeful that I start to creep out of my mess,.
I saw Maria today. We talked for 3 hrs, until she shooed me out of the restaurant. Reality is.. Even if she's just "My friend", as everyone on here says, she treats me with ten times more courtesy than any of my real life friends or famjly do. They all have their own agenda.
Anyhow, that's all. Hopefully if said is posted here away from the main forum, it wont invite bashing.
