Earlier today I was listening to some old songs by The Sons of The Pioneers, and that brought back some memories of my childhood and my late brother Roger, who left us ten years ago this coming July 20.
We had one of their albums, when vinyl was king. This was the early 1960's afterall. 🙂 We played that album over and over, and being the creative type Roger made up stories to go with some of the songs.
One of the songs on that album was Ghost Riders in the Sky. My younger brother and I would hide under the bunk bed we shared, and Roger would put that song on and turn out the light. He would then pull up the edge of the blanket, his face painted like a devil, and laugh an evil laugh, his face illuminated by a flashlight held under his chin. Brian and I loved it when he did that.
It's been many many years since I thought about that. You just never know what might trigger a long forgotten memory. 🙂
