Ah, reality checks, you know I love them.
Our local Marsh just turned itsself into a Hometown Market Store that is technically still a Marsh supermarket but not a Superstore. OK, fine. It has the same stuff and personel, but the only change I saw was my turn at checkout watching people hand over their Marsh discount cards to be scanned then issued Hometown cards when the Marsh Card is returned to you. So when it is my turn to pay the lady asks for my discount card which I hand her while explaining I only have the Marsh card. No problem she says at which time she hands my keys with the old card to the sackboy who looks at the old card, then looks at me and says........"Senior citizen card, right?"
I think they even heard my reply clear back in the warehouse breakroom just past the deli section...."Fuck you."
I did apologize to all there.
*note to self: shave off gray beard before shopping anywhere from now on*
