Ok so I was in a pretty shitty mood the other day when things kinda piled up, but I’ve managed to revert back to my standard attitude that there’s no point in getting upset; just take it all for what it is, because it sure as hell isn’t gonna change just because you enter rage-mode. And to be honest, the stuff that got me upset isn’t even a big deal in the first place if you just think about it. Sure, having a half-dead computer kinda sucks, but it is certainly possible to rectify! 🙂 I actually just got done reformating "BootCamp" (the Windows part of the computer) and while I've lost all data... hey, at least it all works again!
This might be a pretty random blog entry, but I’m hungover (ok well not anymore, but I was EARLIER today. Shut up.) and feel like ranting for a bit. You know what? Society keeps amazing me. I read in the news the other day about this Swedish athlete who decided to come out of the closet and confess he’s gay. It was an online article, and it had like 60 comments by the time I looked. I figured I’d check them out and expected it would just be a plethora of people hating on the guy, while others tried their best to rebuke the haters. Instead it was a long discussion about whether or not the article was even newsworthy, with people saying things such as “who the fuck cares?” and “I’m gay too but I don’t go around and flaunt it in the media”. That kinda made me lol. Sometimes I forget I live in Sweden, which really has a pretty open society compared to most countries. I seldom get patriotic or stuff, but as much as I keep talking about this being a third world country and whatnot, I really consider myself fortunate to live here. Despite being an open society, I’m a bit troubled by the recent surge of xenophobia though… I find it pretty contradictive that a person’s sexuality doesn’t matter, but the colour of your skin does. Eh, I guess no place on Earth is truly perfect, and humans are a peculiar species as we all know.
Oooh and I was thinking I should start posting a “video of the day” like my twinny, because… monkey see, monkey does! 😛 I shall use this to educate you barbarians in the much finer and sophisticated Swedish Culture. This clip is from a little while before this years Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow and it actually sparked an international conflict with Russia, which I find absolutely hilarious! 😀 I remember when I saw it for the first time live on TV, and spotted the army choir at 0:20, I knew instantly that there was absolutely no way in which this could end well. 😵 And after “Dancing Bear” enters at 1:50 something, things REALLY go downhill. This is Awesome, though! XD
